Lasik

Ok...i had enuf fun liaoz. Now can blog. Yesterday was at Sentosa displaying my fats to the whole of SG, and also showing everyone how fucking unfit i am. Lucky i got a very thick skin sia. Or wat Andrew calls me, Ho Min Peh! Hahahah.

Anyways, back to the title. For those that dunno, i'm going to have Lasik done on my right eye on Monday. Whoo hoo! I had the consultation last Monday, and was SO unprepared for it. They called me up on Sunday, cos they want to send me an email, and let me read and gget prepared for the consultation. Needless to say.....i forgotten to read the DAMN thing! So on Monday...i happy happy went there....thinking....aiya...they just check my eyes. Measure here and there...then can go meet up with Thane liaoz.

I was SO WRONG! I was in there for fucking 5 hours!!!! AND! Cos they had to measure the size of my pupils....they had to 'relax' the eye muscles. Cut long story short...i basically had Lao Hwa Yan for the rest of the bloody day. And YES.....when i read books i had to do the UNCLE thing of resting my specs on my forehead...and my personal favourite...to dip my chin and look above the rim of my specs to look at pictures. Excellent. AND U ALL BETTER STOP LAUGHING! Cos SOONER OR LATER.....we will ALL have to do the Lao hwa yan thing!! Bert. U will be one of the first.

Since lots of my friends interested with Lasik, i shall tell u some stuff about it. Basically, Lasik involves cutting a flap of ur cornea, lifting it up....and zapping a laser through the flap, and so correcting ur eye accordingly. U can cut this flap in 2 ways. With a blade....called keratomoasndoaufhdaocnagbe, and cutting with a laser, called Intralase. (knn.....feel like a writing an essay) The flap is super important, as whether u are eligible for Lasik solely depends on whether or not this flap can be cut out of ur eye. The 2 criterias are, cornea thickness and pupil size. Of course.....the thicker the cornea the better. If ur cornea si beh thick like mine....then no need to do Intralase, can use blade to cut...which is $600 cheaper too. Also, ur pupils can't be too huge....simply cos if too huge, u won't have much of an eye left after cutting the flap.

The blade cuts STRAIGHT....so u imagine a ball....and just cut a straight line on the top. That's why pple with thick corneas use this way. Intralase cuts on the circumference of ur eye....so pple with thin corneas NEED to use Intralase. There is no better or worse procedure....cos although using the blade sound crude....it takes less then 10 seconds to cut, and so u can say less risk. Intralase is WAY more accurate...BUT takes about 40 seconds to cut....so hmmmz.....risk of both comes up more or less the same.

Oh a farnie thing happened at the clinic (Jerry Tan Eye Clinic). The whole 5 hr consultation was spent with the nurses and Dr Tan's wife testing my eyes. And they were VERY professional about the WHOLE thing. No problem. Then at the end of the tests i spent about 3 mins with Dr Tan, that's when he looks at the results and determine whether i can do the surgery and wat time of procedure is best for me. Anyways....when i walk into the office kinda thing. This is wat happened.

Dr Tan: HARLOW! Please sit sit sit.

I sat down, and there big fat letters on a screen about 4 metres in front of me.

Dr Tan: U can see these letter right? Now take off ur specs.

MuN: Huh? Then i can't se....

Dr Tan: Take it off! Take it off! HAHAAHAH

Dr Tan: Can u still see the letters?

MuN: No.......

Dr Tan: YOU ARE LEGALLY BLIND!!!!!!

MuN: You fu......

Dr Tan: HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAH
